Lyric Association

This page is dedicated to songs that relate to various aspects of the Metaverse, whether it be a particular story or character, or the Metaverse in general. If you have a song that you think belongs here, send it to Javaoni@hotmail.com. Here are the rules you must follow for an easy installation of your submission:

  1. You must be able to tell me how your song relates to something Metaversian. The more detailed, perhaps the better.
  2. Send me the exact lyrics. If you can't remember them, at least give me the exact song title and artist's name. This is so I can make an attempt to track the song down, which I'm hoping will be a rarity.
  3. Send me the song name and artist name. If you can't remember this last one, that's okay; the lyrics are more important.
  4. Finally, if you'd like your name on here with your submission, send it in.

Notes: The events portrayed in this song come eerily close to the events in Chapter 3 of "And So It Begins." I actually first heard this song before I had that chapter written down, and used the lyrics to help me get it down on paper.

Donna Lewis, "Lights of Life"

Remains lay smoking
Crawling little by little, I
Could hardly breathe

Unprotected
Exposed to the numbing conditons, I
Feel no pain

Falling in the snow
Dazed and confused
Paralyzed with fear
Huddled together for warmth in the trees
Where are the lights?
Where is help?
Only the silence

Oh ohhh help me
Oh ohhh help me
Oh ohhh help me
Oh ohhh help me

Still the sky was empty
Freezing fog descended
And the snow begins to fall

Silence was an enemy
More hated than the cold
So we whispered stories to help us forget

Then out of the sky
Came the lights
Two tiny lights
I wanted to kiss the earth and the stars
No cruel mirage
A distant visage
The silence had broken

Chorus:
Out of the sky came the lights, out of the night
Out of the fear came the strength, strength to live
Out of the sky came the lights, lights of life

(spoken)
It was my birthday the day they found me.
Now I am one week old.
My life, from this moment,
begins again.

Out of the sky came the lights, out of the night
Out of the fear came the strength, strength to live, live to love
Strength to live, live to love

[repeat chorus to fade]

Notes:This song aptly describes the attitude of the Zed Anthro race. You've probably never heard of these guys. They're an a-capella group from Seattle that played in my hometown last year. They are absolutely incredible--you have to see them in concert to believe that they have no instruments, just voice power. You can find some samples of their music on their website.

M-Pact, "Under the Sun"

I learn to see you without my eyes
Behold the flame through your shadow,
Shining from inside
Blinding to my eye

I listen to you without my ears
Communicate through a silence
I thought I'd never hear
Ringing in my ears

Chorus:
I discover that you
And I
Will always be together
Remember the truth,
We all are one
Under the sun

I learn to feel you without my hands
Trust our connection is greater
Than I can understand
Slipping through my hands

I've come to know you without my mind
To speak the language of being
With nothing to define,
Emptying my mind

[chorus]

As we learn to let go of our shadows
We can see the sun inside
Then we'll finally know true freedom
Nothing left to say,
Nothing left to prove
Love will find a way
That's what it's s'posed to do

I discover that you
And I
Will always be together
Remember the truth,
We all are one
Under the sun

I discover that you, you and I
Will always be together
Remember the truth,
We all are one
Under the sun
